The back of my neck is really cold. It’s not because I’m in a cold place, and I’m not on a ghost hunt being creeped out. Nope.
I got my hair cut!
Last Thursday I decided to bite the bullet and book an appointment. I’ve got Taryn Way and The Bloggers Hub to thank for the final push of actually making my mind up. TBH_ tweeted “Yes to pixie cuts!” and I was like oh my god yes, which prompted my last post about the dilemma. Taryn contacted me on Twitter and helped me choose a style that would suit me and I can’t thank her enough. She was lovely and the styles she recommended were stunning.
Saturday at 3pm, I sat down at Sketch Hair in Leeds with Jess and she set to work chopping it all off. I went in with a few pictures of what I wanted and told her that if she had suggestions or wanted to tweak it, that was fine – I was open to ideas. She made me feel at ease about it all and was just lovely to interact with. I’d have to say it’s been my best experience at a hair salon in a while! We had to go pretty short as I have a small head and thin, fine hair, but the outcome is awesome! I feel confident and like I stand out again, rather than just blending in. I look boyish from some angles, but with some accentuation of my curves and more focus on my make up, that’s quickly rectified.
My advice to people thinking about changing their style drastically, as long as your day-to-day routine won’t be hindered by it (don’t dye it pink if the company rules say don’t dye it pink), then go for it! The worst that can happen is that you don’t like it and it’ll grow out! Find a good salon with a good reputation, and you’ll be fine.
And here’s the pictures! #nofilter (but there’s a change in lighting as the weather in England is fickle and that cream jumper does me no favours…)
